Monteverde is a small town located in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica, known for its stunning cloud forests and rich biodiversity. To visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve you must pay an entrance fee, but have in mind that the money is going towards the protection and preservation of the forest.

Hours and Entrance fee for the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve:
The park is open every day from 7am to 4pm. The entrance fee is $25 USD for non-residents and $12 USD for children. Residents and nationals pay $8 USD and their children pay $6 USD. You can purchase your tickets online in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve official website. The parking fees are $5 USD.

How to get there:
Driving to Monteverde from San Jose takes 3 hours. If you don’t have a car there are two bus routes you can take, one departing from San Jose and the other from the city of Puntarenas.

Bus option from San Jose:
The buses are managed by TransMonteverde and you can purchase your tickets online in their website. Tel:.2519-9950. The journey in bus takes 5 hours and the tickets cost $6.7 USD.

Departure time options from San Jose: Every day at 6:30am and 2:30pm
Return time options from Monteverde: Every day at 5:30am and 2:30pm

Bus option from Puntarenas:
The buses are managed by TransMonteverde and you can purchase your tickets online in their website. Tel:.2519-9950. The journey in bus takes 3 hours and the tickets cost $3.6 USD.
